i am doing a search for a hosting service now, i know this is an older thread, but i gotta warn ya about www.addr.com. i used addr very briefly, but they where not very good at all, i cancelled in less than a month. www.webappcabaret.com has 30 days free, and thier server seems well enough configured. i am using jswdk-1.0.1 on my system to test the stuff i write, if it works locally i try it on the web. virtually nothing worked at addr.com, and thier technical support consists of very un-trained people answering the phone and saying "i dunno". everything that i had work locally using jswdk-1.0.1 worked fine on www.webappcabaret.com. i am considering them as a final choice. i found a list of sites here at java ranch, http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000014.html.

Just as a recommendation -- JSWDK is a pretty buggy product, I'd create and test your apps on a free, but reliable, application server (like the HP Internet Server or Tomcat). I've heard of all sorts of problems with JSWDK.

i went to www.webappcabaret.com , but they dont seem to support any other database apart from mySQL, i have cloudscape as my database.. please let me know if there is way i can host my web site having tomcat as my webserver, cloudscape as my database.. arpit
There is also http://www.mycgiserver.com Their service is free too but their site looks a lot better that webappcabaret IMO. They seem to have a lot of installed software, including some Apache/Jakarta frameworks. I think they are using InstantDb for the primary database. I just signed up yesterday so I can't really say how good the support is. But you can't beat the price Junilu
When I was looking for a JSP/Servlet hosting service about six months ago, I found a good sized list on the JSP Insider site. URL: http://www.jspinsider.com/services/hosting.view is the address of their JSP Host List. I went with MyServletHosting ( www.myservlethosting.com ) which offers a couple different plans. The one I have is around $25/month, but for that you get excellent support from people who really know their stuff. I remember seeing a few free ones, and if I can find them again, I'll post 'em.
Actually I just found a WONDERFUL host for my Java students. Its in Malaysia and runs Tomcat, PHP, chilisoft for ASP, Javamail and comes with MySql DataBase.and GET THIS, how about $30 a YEAR, yes thats no typo.......$30 a year. I had to try it to believe it but its just wonderful and the administrator is so nice. You can set it up with your domain or if you dont have one they will do a subdomain for you. The url is http://www.uniqhost.com/ Made me a believer!
