Besides wondering where the company name "Resin" originated, I'm trying to figure out how to set up the Resin Server on my PC to learn Servlet programming.
The truth is, I dont know anything about computers. Very, very, little. I managed to store the server in a directory called server_root, but I cant even read the tutorial. I got the home page to come up on my browser, but I need help IN LAYMAN'S TERMS to start running servlets, i.e. HelloWorld, and view them with my browser. The tutorial looks like code, should that be so?
I really need help. I looked at some tutorials online through links from this site but I couldnt make them out. Can anyone take the time to give me an overview of a server program like Resin (or Tomcat), IN LAYMAN'S TERMS, and how I can get around one and teach myself servlets using one.? I need to know how to set up the class path, everything. Step by step.
One day I will support this site in any way I can once I'm on my feet. I really appreciate the help I've gotten so far. john werner.

I'm moving this to the servlet forum so it has a better chance of getting an answer.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
