i have a servlet that writes file on the server but i am having some problems with the path. Even though i set the path and the root with the -r and -d option of the servletrunner it still writes the file to the default directory (just ../ of the servletrunner executable) though it reads the property file OK can anyone guess why this is happening

That is the expected behavior of Java if you dont specify a path when opening a file. Why not include a complete path in the properties file?
