hello , to all you servlet , jsp developers who developes online ecom , shopping web sites , I want to ask that how you organize sites , like when end user submit his order for item ,
do you retrive that data through servlets in text file on server or there are some othre practical methods to retrive this data ,
how often you check this data for order , like if it is in text file then you have to keep checking it ,
once user submit data , we can get that form data in servlet and display on order confirmation page , but how you get this data on the server itself , when user submit order form does database interaction happens immidietly or data is entered manyaaly , it would be very nice if you can give some example with code for getting form data from end user at server and guidance about this points ,
thank you

Jewels & Treasures (my moms company) are currently planning on using php for our e-commerce site. We plan on making the upgrade to servlets/jsp as soon as I develop it.

forgot to answer your question. The order file is in a sql database under heavy security and we access the orders from the online administration. We get e-mailed if a new order has come in. Depending on what you are using a text file or my sql database. sql you execute sql commands to add it to the table for text file there is a function that you can write to a file. 2 of your questions are unclear the first one and the last one about database and manually interaction (i think that what you were trying to say)

Try looking at the Java Pet Store application provided by Sun. It has all that you are talking about, though it is a little daunting to go through because there are so many classes. Maybe the section on design patterns will help you out. Sorry I don't know the URL, but it's on Sun's site java.sun.com

PHP is a dynamic website language and toolset very popular on Apache servers. See http://www.php.net for more details.

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Is this a tiny ad?
