I have two questions:
1) I just installed J2EE, I am wondering if it contains a servlet engine, or I need to get a servlet engine/web server
seperately?
2) Is J2EE a prerequisite for installing Tomcat web server?
Thanks.

2. It is not prerequisite for Tomcat. Just download tomcat and unzip it and You are ready to write servlets and Jsp.
1. I am not sure but I would guess that it should contain server engine. J2EE specs say it should contain but I say You either browse sun's documentation or maybe someone in the meantime will answer it here.

Vladan,
Thanks for your information.
Regarding my question 1, I just found out J2EE contains a
server engine. Run
C:\j2sdkee1.2.1\bin\j2ee.bat
starts the server at port 8000, assuming default setting.
