Hi All
I'm runnig my java application on Win98.
the problem is ,i'm trying to set the CLASSPATH permanently
in Autoexe.bat for jakarta-tomcat3.1 but that doesn't take any effect.
just when i restart my computer i see a page for few seconds
it says c:\jdk1.2.2\bin and others as bad commands.
even when i type set at prompt c:\ i do not see anything related to classpath.
please any idea,or a copy for a Autoexe.bat that has thoise settings.
thanks alot for your time.

PATH C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\JDK1.3\BIN;C:\PROGRA~1\RATIONAL\COMMON
set CLASSPATH=.;C:\jakarta-tomcat\lib\servlet.jar;C:\jakarta-tomcat\lib\jasper.jar;C:\ServletCode
Those are contents of my autoexec.bat file.
You are probably missing "set" in front of classpath line.
Well I hope this helps.

Hi
Here is the content for my Autoexe.bat
@C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\NAVDX.EXE /Startup
set CLASSPATH=.;c:\jdk1.2.2\bin;c:\jakarta-tomcat\lib\servlet.jar;c:\jakarta-tomcat\lib\jasper.jar
When i startup Tomcat,i got two dos windows, one of them under name java and the other under title name Finished-STARTUP.
When try to run jsp page,i got a message this page not found.
when i check those dos windows i found this message in java window " java.lang.NoclassDefFoundError:sun/tools/javac/ "
and this message in Finishe-title "out of environment space...."
i do not know why when i startup tomcat i got two dos console.
even when i try to runjsp pages inside examples directory,i got page not found too.
Please any idea.
Thanks alot for your time.
