I'm using Visual Cafe to do my development. I've downloaded servlet.jar, jdk1.3, and j2skee1.2.1, and pointed my CLASSPATH to their directories. However I still get an error trying to locate javax.'anything'.
1) Is what I'm trying to do not possible (teach an old ide new tricks)?
2) Anyone got any ideas how to pipe the output of javac to a text file under NT. (javac doesn't have a problem with the javax files, but I loose most of the compilation messages!)
Thanks
Vernon

It may be that you have missed a detals in what to do with "jar" files. jar files need to be either explicitly named in the claspath (clumsy and error ptone) or put in an automatically-scanned jar directory. The most obvious automatically-scanned directory is the jre/lib/ext directory of your SDK 1.3. Put servlets.jar in there and try again.

Thanks for your response Frank,
The problem turned out to be that Visual Cafe uses the it's own classpath from a file called sc.ini.
I needed to edit sc.ini and add the %CLASSPATH% variable to it.
(This is a real old Professional version 2.5)
Thanks again.
