assign html input text box value into jsp var

i have a html input text box and jsp variable declared in a jsp, how can i assign the value of the text box into the variable after user change or enter the value???
i need this processing to be done on the same jsp. is it possible under jsp without activate another jsp or servlet??

Hi,
Definitely you will get the value when the user will submit the rewuest to the server from the client side. If you call the same jsp file or place this variable access code in other file, then you can access the input from input field request object, with request.getParamter(); method.
