downloading file thru servlet...urgent

I tried writing a servlet program thru which i could download any file, here I am not getting the dialog where the user could respond either to open/save it.
I am not sure about the usage of setHeader(),Pls help me in this regard, I referred the response which was posted earlier , but still its not clear. Pls explain with example
