I'm trying to compile a simple servlet and keep getting a message saying that the javax.servlet and javax.servlet.http packages aren't found. Are these packages not included with the standard jdk? I'm using version 1.3 and haven't any problems with importing other packages before. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to download a file "servlet.jar" to enable this functionality. This is available on www.javasoft.com. The easiest way after that is to place this file in the JDK1.3 directory under "jdk1.3\jre\lib\ext". Jar files placed in this directory are automatically used by the compiler without any changes to the classpath.
