Hi,
Can someone help me out in knowing how to do downloading of
files from server to client (thru microsoft Internet Explorer) using java servlet. pls let me
know the resource that are available. do i need to use any
third party util for that?

Hi!
A response.sendRedirect("myProgram.exe") inside inside the servlet is enough to download this file.
On a web server all types of file can be access! The one that are not understand by the client browser can be saved locally.
So is it what you want otherwise: you can also redirect to a ftp server!
