i've a rather fundamental question. recently i had downloaded
jrun developer edition. i wrote a simple servlet and stored and compiled in programfiles/allaire/jrun/default/default-app/web-inf/classes. later on when iam trying to access it through http://localhost:8000/servlet/MyFirstServlet it is giving me an error. the default server is running
my fundamental doubt is how do we define the url mappings. in the console i could see virtual mappings and servlet url mapping
links under default-server. i've tried with them, but of no effect. if i say localhost in which folder of the hard disk it
will search. may be iam missing the basic concept.
ie how it will internally map c rogramfiles/allaire/jrun/default/default-app/web-inf/classes/myfirstservlet to /servlet/myfirstservlet.
where we can adjust these settings
please somebody tell me where iam going wrong
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
