JSP best practises and advices ?

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hello,
We're about to rewrite an intranet application developed in PL/SQL and running from Oracle OAS to a java based application using JSPs, tag libraries and EJBs.
In order to get the easiest maintenance and not to make big desing mistakes, i would like to know if there are some well known 'best practises' to facilitate coding / maintenance / performances when developing JSP based pages.
Also the fact that we've got lots of very similar pages makes us wonder if it's better to have lots of JSPs or use tag libraries instead to generate the different content.
Any experience feedback, performance info, advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance, JC

There are many good practices and design approaches, it really depends on what your project needs. For starts check out http://www.jspinsider.com to get links to some great free JSP information. There are many articles and tutorials geared to help answer broad questions like this.
From experience I can say start reading, and keep reading. Good advice can always be found with what others are currently doing, but it rarely stops and answers a forum post.
If you are starting JSP/Servlet site design from scratch be sure to check out Struts. The MVC design has some great concepts for helping improve code reusability and management.
