Hi,
This is kinda basic, I would appreciate if someone cares to answer this... I tried to compile a servlet. I have not downloaded servlets api. So the compiler gave an error saying javax.servlets and servlets.http packages dont exist. Now where should I download the javax.servlets and javax.servlets.http to? Into the same directory where my jdk is there?

That's probably the most logical place. The important thing is to make sure you adjust your classpath so the new api's are referenced too. There should be instructions where you downloaded it from sun. If you run into any more trouble feel free to ask a question here.

Sean,
Thanks. I downloaded the servlet jar file into my jdk/bin directory. When I tried to compile after that, I am still getting the same error. What could have gobe wrong? Because I have downloaded it to the jdk/bin which is already there in the class path, I didnt have to edit the classpath.

Yes. It started working when I put it under the ext directory. Thanks Hardy.
