Classpath problem with Tomcat

I usually run on Linux and I'm having this problem on Windows2k.
I installed Tomcat and it runs fine.
I want to use jaxp1.1 (XML stuff)
On Linux (not that it should make much difference in theory) I removed the jaxp.jar from TOMCAT/lib (I believe Tomcat uses it to parse its configuration files)and replaced it with a new jaxp.jar. Everything works fine.
On this W2K box, I can get TOMCAT running fine, but I tried switching that and the server won't start up.
Anyone know why or have any suggestions/solutions?
Thanks in Advance.

Look for earlier XML parser jar files - especially in the
JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext directory
Read the FindingClasses.html file in your SDK tooldocs directory to find out why.
You would not believe how much time I wasted with a similar problem when first starting Tomcat.
