my classpath and path are set up as follows:
SET CLASSPATH=c:\jdk1.3\lib\tools.jar;c:\jdk1.3\lib\dt.jar;c:\jdk1.3\lib\servlet.jar;
SET PATH=%PATH%;c:\jdk1.3\bin;
i have my files in c:\javawebserver2.0\servlets\main\other\ and
c:\javawebserver2.0\servlets\main\dbproxy\
the package statements in my other class files are:
package main.other;
but when i go to compile cart.java inside the 'other' directory which contains Item objects from my own item.java file in the same 'other' directory / package, i get an error: unable to recognize symbol. and the item class is public. any ideas?
