Is there a reason why the forum doesn't have a preview post button? Sometimes when pasting code samples, etc, it's nice to be able to check how it looks before actually posting it to the forum.

Also, is it possible to have the forum automatically set so that any thread I reply to is watched? Then I don't have to remember wether I've read something before, and if someone replies to an old thread or something I've forgotten about, I'll be notified?

your first question has been discussed many times before - try searching this forum. basically, the answer boils down to a) the software we use doesn't support it, and b) since you can always go back and edit your own posts, we don't find it a big enough deal to try and hack the code to allow it.

as to your second question, no. again, the forum software doesn't allow it. You can manually set watches on various threads, but I've never done it. I think it has something to do with the 'my watches' link near the top of every page.

It DOES have the option of setting a watch on every forum you START, but not ones you simply post to.

I see. I just found another thing to complain about.

When I go to quote a post, if they've broken up their post quoting another post, I only get the last section of their text, not the full text that they posted.

EDIT: Make that two more things.

Is there a way to change the font that's used for the CODE piece? The size and font difference from the regular text makes it hard to decipher. And I've noticed that sometimes it does display in the same way as the regular text, but I haven't been able to figure out why.

If you look at the bottom of the page after clicking the "Watch" button you will see a checkbox that says:

"Add a Watch automatically for each topic I start"
