Hi ranchers,
I m new to J2ee. I have downloaded JSDK and i already have JDK1.3/1.4. Now i 've planned to test all the basic/necessary features of Advanced Java. So with my Win98, i have installed NT Server 4.0 and IIS 5.0. Now i have freely downloaded Servlet/JSP specifications, TomCat beta 4.07 & 3.2.3,JRun,BDK 1.1,Java Web Server.
My plan is to now test JDBC with Access 97 first and then SQL Server 7.0 and studying JDBC from Ivor Horton's Beginning Java 2. Then create some jar files (reading JDK1.3 programmer's Reference chapter for it). Then i want to install both Java Web Server and Tomcat under NT Sevrer 4.0 (reading developing Java Servlets by SAMS). And thenafter JRun. Callaways' "Inside Servlets" is always with me. I don't know whether i can do all of them or not... ....but at least ambitous try (regarding u all r with me)
Now suggest me dear friends....from where should i start? What should be my sirial and in which O/S which to install or test them in both O/S s. I have a plan to install apache under linux also. I m not in suggest me to do what should i do one-by-one. As i have already told u, i m very new in J2EE but have all the necessary fundametal concepts of Java, SQL Server, NT Server etc....Waiting with a can beer for ur reply...
