Does anyone know of an easy-painless way to create a JSP navigation structure that is aware of a users capabilities/access rights and then only displays the navigation menu items that the user has access to.
Assumming that I have already mapped the user to their associated capabilities and the capabilities to the navigation items, is their any way I can get this done without having to explicitly check on my JSP each menu item to see if the user has access to it.

Right off the cuff, I would say to build a vector of menu items (as HTML Strings) that are permitted as you are checking the clearances. You could keep that in the session.
