I am in the process of developing some web applications to be run on the company intranet. Th applications are mainly simple database querying interfaces. One of the apps has a couple of data entry screens. All the pages are written using jsp pages and servlets, with a little bit of javascript thrown in. These are not high volume/high transaction sites. On a busy day there will probably be about 100-150 users of the system.
I see no reason to have the overhead of apache/iis running because I feel tomcat should be able to handle the traffic. Have any of you run Tomcat without Apache/IIS as the webserver ? What kind of loads have you seen it handle in an intranet environment?
