Assumption: Registering one student for one course is the basic unit of work. So registering one student for ten courses takes the same time as registering ten students for one course each.

300 students x 10 courses for each = 3000 studentCourses

3000 studentCourse / 4 hours = 750 studentCourse/hour

For any number of courses and students, just divide by this work rate.

Time needed = X x Y / 750 studentCourses/hour

That's what I said. (2XY/25)minutes == (XY/750)hours

And that would have clearer if I used more parentheses. I shoudl have said...

Time needed = X x Y / (750 studentCourses/hour)

...which reduces to (XY hours)/(750 Student*Courses)

...or if you leave out the student and course units... (XY/750) hours
