Hi,
I got an error msg from Tomcat on win2000. It's "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VALITATION exception was detected in the code outside the VM". After got this msg, the server will shutdown. Since this error came out anytime and anywhere, I couldn't say which part of my code has problem (also I don't know how to catch this exception). Is there anyone can give me a hand on this?
I appriciate about the help.
Jim

This sounds like Tomcat didn't get installed properly. (ie - you probably can't catch this error, since it's Tomcat that generates it).

Have you tried re-installing?

Hi, Mike:
thank you for your responce. I use Tomcat1.3 first, then Tomcat1.4. Same err. I thought there may has some porblem in my installation, because after I start Tomcat server and type in http://localhost:8080, I can get default page and servlets are work, but jsp example doesn't work. The thing is, I followed every step of the instruction of Tomcat installation. I don't know where was wrong.
My System is win2000 with IIS5.0.
I set up JDK1.3 first, then Tomcat and Xalan. (just in case, I also copy some .jar files into JDK/lib and ../ext ie.server.jar... )
Second step was setup envirenment variables: JAVA_HOME, TOMCAT_HOME, CLASS_PATH.
Then I add piece code into web.xml(only in Tomcat1.3).
That's it.Did I missing something?
Jim
