hi, im trying to test some servlets in weblogic 6.1, i have problems with one that displays .gif files, i just dont know why its not working, either getPathTranslated its not getting the correct path or there is something wrong with my weblogic directory structure
here is what it says in the browser
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

and here is the url with wich i try to access the image
http://localhost:7001/learning/Confidentializer/images/jsp.gif
the image jsp.gif its now placed in every single directory of my application, and in every directory i have also a directory called images that contains the image too, but even placing the image everywhere doesnt make this servlet work!!!
anybody has any idea why is this happening? its a problem with the servlet? or weblogic? or the url? or something else?
i have tested other servlets and work just fine, none of them have used images though
well thanks in advance

Check out the deployment descriptor of ur Weblogic whether u give correct path r not.And be sure whether u deploy that .class file in servlet work directory bcas 404 will come when the source is not available.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
