What is the Difference between Web Server & Web Container?.
I think that Web container contians the web application and web server contains the web container.Or in other words, Web container executes within web server.
May be it is wrong.Plz/ give me more precise definition.
Bye.

Not right at all. A Web Server is a program that serves HTML pages and other web content via HTTP. A J2EE Web container is a program (or part of a program) that executes Servlets and JSP's. Web Containers can reside inside Web Servers, or they can be separate programs entirely. For instance, the Apache consortium produces the Apache Web Server, and the Tomcat web container -- these are two different projects. Likewise IBM produces IBM HTTP Server, and WebSphere Application Server, which contains a web container.
I'd recommend that you check out a couple of good books on Web architecture, like Jason Hunter's Servlet book, or even my book below, which, even though it's specific to one vendor's products, covers these basic application architecture questions.
