Hello:
The question might seem to be newbieish, because that is what I am. I tried searching for the answer to this without success, maybe I just over looked it, but here it goes.
I am currently developing a servlet that requires logging in to the system. This is implemented by using HttpSession.
Once I login, everything goes fine, if I stay in the same browser session everything goes fine, but as soon as I close the browser and return to the page, my session has ended. Is there any way to over come this so the user would stay logged in, v. always having to relogin everytime they shut the browser?
Highest Regards,
Charles J. O'Brien

As far as I know, once the browser is closed, there is no way to associate more requests with the session that was created for that user. I don't know a lot about this, but that's my understanding.

Thanks for your help. What I ended up doing was just creating a cookie v. using the session system.
The only thing I can't figure out now is how to destroy the cookie. :/

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
