As a first book on servlets etc, which of these two books should I buy? Is the second one a follow on to the first or an alternative? Or should I buy something else?
Thanks

I have Core servlets and it's a gooooooood book!
I would recomandate that book. It's seems from amazonthat more servlets is a second step ( not for beginners)
I would go for core servlets!

Both are excellent books. I'd recommend buying More Servlets and JavaServer Pages because you can download Core Servlets and JavaServer Pages directly from the book's website, here's the link .
Check out this thread for more information.

More is reasonably self-contained, and up to date, and yup, if you really need to refer to Core, there's the free pdf anyway. Cheers!
