hi folks,
i've Tomcat 4.0.4 installed in Linux 7.2 and when tested, works great. now, i changed the port 8080 to just 80 in conf/server.xml, started tomcat, can't access anything. and when i shutdown tomcat, gives me a bunch of erros starting from "connection refused" and ....
it does not even let me add new servlet context in it. what's wrong with these kind of changes in server.xml and linux? i did the same thing in window environment, works just fine.
please help me with it.
thanks.

hi himal,
i guess there might be some other process using port 80. u can probably run netstat to know it and see if that is the case.
or it might be because of the Proxy you might be running. because i run tomcat4.0.5 and in server.xml i have an entry to configure proxy based HTTP connector that says "proxyPort=80"!
you can try another port like 6004 or something to see if the problem is with ONLY port 80 or does it occur for every other port than 8080...
let me know if u r able to solve the problem
regards
maulin
