Hi All,

I am developing a software product. I would like to know how to register the product and to get the copyright of that product. I am an individual. Does the registration needs a company?.

Awaiting your reply,

Regards,
Pasu Jags.

All you have to do for a CopyRight is put a copyright notice in the code. Registering is typically reserved for Trademarks and such.
There's nothing saying that you can't make money off your product as an individual... I just wouldn't spend any of it until I got a lawyer and an accountant, after which there probably won't be much left anyway .
Good luck whatever you do.

Although I'm no lawyer I understand that if you were to cut it onto a CDROM, seal it in an envelope & snailmail it to yourself. Then if someone claims copywrite for your code then the CD in the envelope is admissible in a court of law as evidence..
it's probably googling for further info.
