Hi,
I am using a perl program to call a servlet for an xml stream of data. Within servlet a simple UPDATE statement needs to be executed. This is the result I am getting:
1. I tried sql statement from sql prompt and it worked very fast.
2. Tried setting the maximum interval for statement object to zero for more time.
3. Database is up and running.

Still I get the following error. Please help

Added UBB code tags to stack trace - MDC

Sam- if you look at that stack trace- you have a null pointer- maybe you should check to see if any of your objects in your serlvet are null. That might be a start. It looks like its happening when your calling .getNodeList()- Can you post your servlet code?

Please ignore that lang null exception.
The main point is the database query just sits there not doing anything.
Thanks

Sorry-but alot of times a null pointer will cause the program to not continue to execute- it just depends. Further, we really can't solve your problem without seeing some code........... What you've given isn't enough to solve this issue.

at com.sun.xml.parser.DocumentBuilderImpl.parse(DocumentBuilderImpl.java:95)
at QPartsComm.QPartsServices.XmlProcessor.<init>(XmlProcessor.java:79)
This looks like where its failing- not in your actual database query- but rather when your parsing the XML- as evidenced by the DocumentBuilderImpl reference.
