I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, but I'm having a problem trying to post an object to a servlet from an applet when deploying the application in Oracle application server (although, I'm not convinced that it's necessarily an OAS specific issue). I'm able to post without a problem when the application is deployed on Tomcat, but with OAS I get this error:
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission http.strictPostRedirect read)
at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(Unknown Source)
at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPropertyAccess(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.System.getProperty(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Boolean.getBoolean(Unknown Source)
at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.followRedirect(Unknown Source)
at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.protocol.jdk12.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)
at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getHeaderField(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.protocol.jdk12.http.HttpURLConnection.checkCookieHeader(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.protocol.jdk12.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)
at com.tck.util.comm.http.HttpCallServlet.postHttpObject(HttpCallServlet.java:87)
I'm guessing this could have something to do with the clustering features of OAS and so I may or may not be posting to the same host/port that I think I am? I'm really not certain what it could be.

Well.. looks like it might be an OAS configuration issue:
Trying ??.??.??.???...
Connected to foo.bar.com
Escape character is '^]'.
POST http://foo:1234/Application/Servlet HTTP/1.0
HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
Date: Thu, 23 Jan 2003 16:03:28 GMT
Server: Oracle9iAS/9.0.2 Oracle HTTP Server
Cache-Control: private
Location: http://null/Application/Servlet
Connection: close
Content-Type: application/octet-stream
Connection closed by foreign host.
I'll go bug the Oracle folks about this one.. see why this is happening.
