I am planning to buy a station wagon in the next 3-4 months. Here's my list

  • Ford Taurus - my wife really likes it, but I am concerned about reliability.
  • Subaru Legacy/Outback - I like the looks and I can convince my wife. But I am not sure how good it is for its price( 25K + )
  • Volvo Cross Country - just dreaming...too expensive for me though I would like to own it some day.
  • BMW 5 Series Wagon - The Sexiest station wagon out there. I just drool at its sight. Very sad it is too heavy for my pocket sob..sob..

  • Any comments? Do you guys own any of these? Anything good/bad experiences to share?
    Thanks a bunch!!

I'd go for Subaru. My boyfriend has had two Subaru Station Wagons and he loves them (not the Outback type, though). You can definately get a lot of miles out of them. And definately a lot more reliable than Taurus. And I love the look of the Outback, too.
BTW, all Subaru cars are four-wheel drive, in case you ever get to live in the north....

You know what's getting very good ratings everywhere right now is the Volkswagen Passat. Is there any reason you're not considering that one?
I just sold my '91 Honda Accord Wagon... that was a great car, and very reliable too. When we kissed it goodbye it had over 250,000 miles on it (all ours). Unfortunately Honda dropped the Accord Wagon.

I was disappointed to learn Honda stopped making their station wagons.
VW is a cheaper Audi. Hmm..I don't know why I didn't consider it. Thanks guys, I'll do some groundwork on Passat.
