That sounds like a homework assignment to me.

No.I sam some explanation in Sams java servlets book.I did not fallow any thing.It looked like interview question to me.that is why i asked you.

Persistent - Means that a single servlet instance will be created to handle all requests for the servlet path (Unless you unwisely implement the Single Threaded model ). This means that you MUST ensure that your servlets are thread-safe.
Extensible - Means that you can sub-class servlets to create a class hierarchy of servlets.
