I am currently having trouble with classpaths when compiling servlets.
First, when i tried setting up my classpath and pointing it to j2ee.jar (that's using SET CLASSPATH= j2ee directory plus j2ee.jar), here's what happens.
1. I can compile servlets
2. but i cannot compile ordinary classes anymore.
When i remove the CLASSPATH, here's what i get,
1. I cannot compile servlets anymore coz it looking for the javax.* library
2. BUT I CAN NOW compile ordinary classes.
Any feedback re: my problem would be appreciated. Thanks!

Use ,
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\j2ee\lib\j2ee.jar
This will add j2ee.jar to your existing classpath

There is a nice discussion of classpath setting in the "findingclasses.html" file in the docs/tooldocs directory of your SDK installation.
