The Princess Bride - Definitely the Overall Best Movie of All Time. You know how they call Star Trek fans Trekkers? I'm a Brider (Trekker in my spare time...)
The Pirates of Penzance - The best musical made into a movie (late 70's/early 80's?). Kevin Kline, Rex Smith, Linda Ronstadt, Angela Landsbury, Tony Azito...simply great. I'm convinced that Kevin Kline can play any role.
Bull Durham - Best sports movie ever made. Absolutely hysterical and there is a quote for all seasons.
Tommy Boy - Best Stupid movie. I usually hate movies of this ilk, but there is something special about Tommy Boy, especially since Chris Farley is gone. I think I actually laugh harder every time I watch it.
Of course, Holy Grail is in a class by itself. ("Watery tarts distributing swords is no basis for a system of Government!") as is the entire Monty Python body of work.
I've seen each one of these movies more than a hundred times each and still they are at the top of my list. There are of course countless others!

Just watched You've Got Mail. It was a lot better than what I thought it would be.
I saw the preview to Jurassic Park 3. I wasn't too impressed but that's just me. The only movies I'm looking forward too in the theater are: Monsters Inc, The Lord of the Rings series (one this christmas, another the following christmas and the last in christmas 2003), Matrix 2 and 3.
I highly recommend The Mummy Returns.
Along Came A Spider was pretty good but we had a power outage midway through it and that probably effected my overall view of the film.

I like lots of movies that have been listed on here so far... here are a few more I like...
Time Bandits (Comedy. Time travel, God, the devil, and midgets... could this movie get any better! )

The Matrix ( Star Wars for the new millenium ( Technically, Star Wars would be the Star Wars of the new millenium, but J**-J** screwed that up... ) )

The Crow ( The first movie was great... the rest went the way of most sequals, though( i.e. sucked. )... ( Dark City was really good too... same director as the 1st Crow movie... ) )
Sixth Sense ( I love movies that screw with your mind! )

Hey Jane, if you like Silverado you'll like the first one better (Silverado was actually a sequal). It's in Spanish but I liked it better. They have a version of Silverado on DVD with both movies. You could rent it. I believe it's called El Muriachi (Guy that plays the guitar in restaurants or bars).

I think of the new movies, I mean Tomb Raider, J Park III etc.. etc.., SHREK is the best. Do not underestimate it as a Animation film or kid stuff - the whole crowd was laughing breathlessly to each and every tail wag and wink of eye of that donkey (sound by Eddie Murphy) in cinema hall.
Aamir, have you tried Nasrudheen Shahs 'Bhopal Express'? I agree '1947 Earth' is very good, but I bet Bhopal Express will dig a hole in your chest and touch you inside !! ( sorry for exagerating this much... all I mean is that movie is very touching )

OK J,
Based on your opinion I broke down and took the girls to see Shrek this week. I only go to the movies once or twice a year because it costs us $40 each time - bah humbug!
However you were right - it was worth every penny! The animation is incredible. Sometimes those characters actually looked REAL.
