How do we achieve single sign on between applications in different web applications.Is the cookie of one application used for the other too?
How is the jsesion id shared?

If you're using Tomcat as your container, check the documentation on Single Sign-On

thanx guys for that pointers.
What i want know is,how,if i want to, can i implement my own single sign on system?What will my guidlines be if i want to implement a single sign on between two of my web apps,without depending on the underlying web server?Can i base it completely on cookies?
