Notice that I didn't claim to be a general!
As a simple soldier, I am often as lost and confused as you could imagine. Andrew had a great observation that it is like Vietnam. Lots of confusion, no one's sure who to trust or which side is right, or even who is on who's side!
Don't think that I'm for Netscape! In the Southern United States, up until a couple of decades ago the Civil War was still referred to as the "War of Northern Aggression": always try to base the title of a good war on the other party, hence "The NetScape Wars".
Originally, I was a NetScape fan, but developing web applications has just about driven me crazy. Only MSIE has the ability to really utilize W3C standards and JavaScript, which was CREATED by NetScape, works better with MSIE! Go figure!!!
Then one day the inevitable happened. I got a hold of NetScape6. Lulled by the hype of a "Standards Only" version of NetScape, I figured things were finally turning our way... little did I know I was opening a whole new can of worms. Now I have to code for all three, and you guessed it... NetScape6 is not always compatible with earlier versions of NetScape. And who the H*** needs 'skins' anyway??? Just make the darned thing WORK, I don't care what it looks like! Our new motto here in the office is "NetScape SUCKS!"
I'd had enough of pulling my hair out trying to make our web pages work with NetScape, so I declared War. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no power over the outcome of the war, but like the soldiers in Vietnam I'm going to fire off as many rounds into the woods as I can, maybe I'll wing 'em...

I'm a soldier in the NetScape Wars...
