Hi guys and gals,
I was not sure if it would be better posting this question here or in the Tomcat thread - Oh well...
I am not new to Java but I am (kinda) new to the Servlet API and especially Tomcat 4.
I have managed to install and configure Tomcat successfully. But I am not sure where to place my Servlet class files in the Tomcat directory structure, and I am not sure how to run the servlets either (Yes I know via HTML pages, but the dir. structure...)
Could someone point me to a nice friendly tutorial somewhere or explain how these two things work?
Thanks in advance.

http://jakarta.apache.org/
The Jarkata web site has an app developer's guide as part of the docs:
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/appdev/index.html
(link is to version 4.1)
It will answer your questions.

Also you can carefully inspect the way the Tomcat examples directory is put together vrs the web.xml definitions.
Download the servlet API specifications (free in PDF form) from java.sun.com - they are much more readable than the usual API specs.
