I was wondering if anyone can help me.
I need to be able to use a JSP page to interact with MS indexing service. i.e. i need a web page that allows me to use MS indexing service and hence search for documents etc.. I can't seem to find anything on the net for doing this using JSP, but have found an example of doing it using ASP. Can anyone provide any help on this or a link that explains how to implement it. The way of doing it in ASP is shown here http://www.asp101.com/articles/john/indexserver/default.asp

Hi Suresh,
I have done this before and I must admit to actually being pretty impressed with it (which is a first for a Microsoft product )
The method that I used was as follows:
1. Create an .HTX file that formats the results that you want as XML rather than HTML (Microsoft Support assured me that this wouldn't work but they were wrong).
2. Create a .IDQ file that defines your query and associate it with the .HTX file created above.
3. Use the URL of the IDQ file to execute your query and it will now return XML which can be easily parsed by the Java application.
If anyone is interested I can pass on the .idq & .htx files that I used.
HTH
