Hi e'body..
Well In my new web application, it's kind of, on a new day.. for the first time, when I access, it runs slow... slowly it catches up with good speed..
I am wondering to know, if this is because the servlet engine is removing the servlet(s) instance from the memory..at the end of each day??
( When there will not be any requests, its an Intranet application )
Does the engine remove the instances from the memory, when the instance has no more request threads to service?? want to know about this..
I am with the idea that, the servlet instance will not be removed from the memory by the Container, unless there is a need of memory..
Plz help me on this issue..
I would really apprecite your help..
Thanks
PS: I'm using Websphere app server 3.5

The servlet container is allowed to remove the instance whenever it wants to. You might try writing to a log in the destroy() method to see if that is what is happening.
