Hi,
A basic question regarding JSP and servlets. We all know that JSPs are text based documents that execute as servlets.
But are there any things that only a servlet can do and are not possible in JSPs. Some features that are not available to JSP?
Regards,

In my opinion, no.
To draw parallels with OO concepts, a JSP "IS A" servlet - only, with a lot more add ons that make life easy for you when you're coding the 'view' part.

Since JSP are designed to serve text pages, serving any kind of binary data is next to impossible from a JSP. Also there are many efficiencies possible with a servlet that are not possible with JSP.
