I was reading that to upload a file, one of the ways to deal with this progammatically is to use http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/fileupload/.
However, it's not clear how to install this apache file upload code under just Tomcat (running under Windows, for example)?
Are there any examples of doing file upload type operations and better instructions on how to install it under Tomcat that someone could point me to?
Is there an easier way to upload a file to a Servlet?
I really appreciate anyone's input.
Thanks.

Hello Mike,
To start with file upload utility is totally independent of web container. You can try Oreilly's File upload utility. It is simple plus it provide complete documentation.
i hope it helps

Hi Mike
There are some ready-to-use components available, just as pointed in the previous post OReilly is one of them, then there is jspSmartUpload component too, in which, you just have to place JAR file, in the LIB folder.

If you just want to upload some files to your server but don't need to integrate it into your own web-app, you could try FileNabber - it's a ready-to-use web-app packaged as a .war file. http://filenabber.com/filenabber.html
