I think it is time to put an end to unregistered posters.
What does everyone else think?

Unregistered is bad when the intent is to be malicious.
Can you guess who I am

Since one can have multiple registered identities with just slightly more effort, do we really gain any advantage by barring unregds ?

I say leave them. Is there really a dire need to turn that feature off? And it wont really stop people from posting undr fake names, just make it a bit harder to do. I dont think a little light hearted swearing is all that bad.
Dont worry, be happy.

I firmly support, but do not practice, unregistered drivel.

Dear Concerned Rancher;
I believe that you are the darker side of Nanjangud Nanjundaiah here to turn him into less of a man than he REALLY could be.
Please leave him alone. We like him the OTHER way .

Let me go on a Rahulesque denial spree and assure folks that I am not all the Concerned Ranchers who express concerns here

I like this. My posts can be understood only by patricians. This is another form of apartheid which the patricians plan to implement.

I thought I read somewhere it was easier to IP the offending poster if they are registered.

It's just as easy to get the IP of an unregistered poster. However for an unregistered poster, anyone can use that ID, since there's no password. So all you really have is the IP for that particular post.
I'm not a big fan of unregistered users, as their posts rarely seem to contain interesting content, and are much more likely to be silly, immature, or offensive. But perhaps it's useful to have an outlet here for that sort of thing (though we're cutting down on the "offensive" part) - otherwise these people would be more likely to pollute other forums with their... well... drivel.
