This is an good example of a mis-applied law. It never ceases to amaze me at what technology stupid people come up with.

I can see how this guy could get prosecuted and convicted if they get a stupid enough jury.

Assuming this software was something like the seti@home client I have on my machine, it only actually accesses the internet for a few seconds every couple of days ... it downloads information ... then takes hours analysing it then uploads it's findings then downloads some more etc ....
I can't see the problem.
Poor Guy :-(

Hey Angela,
Just yesterday I was watching Discovery channel program on how the scientific community in engaged in finding evidence of extra terrestrial life....gathering info from the space telescopes and analysing it on seti@home clients spread all over the world. Its truly amazing.btw whats P2P.

The south is still backward, I have travelled to many states in the US and the south is backward from what I saw.
Anyone remember Floyd R. Turbo ? A Johnny Carson Skit,
well the south is some ways is still like that,
I has gotten better, since the 60's of course.
