Hi everyone,

How can I give "save as" option for Microsoft office documents, when they are opened in browser using servlets.
Kindly note that "save" icon comes by default for pdf documents but not for microsoft documents in browser.

Thanks,

any content-type that is supported by browser will open in browser itself
for rest all it will prompt a message to save the file.

even if you have pdf plugin installed on your browser then it will also open in web browser

Thanks for your replies.
When I'm using following line of script, M/S word is opening without top tool bar with "save as" option.
winobj = window.open(url,"win","top=0,left=0,resizable=no,toolbar=yes,location=no,directories=no,dependent=no,scrollbars=no,status=no,width=700,height=500");

But with following line "save as" is also coming.
winobj = window.open(url);

What to do if I want to use the first one with "save as" option.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
