After that I signed out in the main window.

What does your application do when somebody signs out?
Note that your sign out method can call the HttpSession invalidate() method so that the next time you log in you get a new session.

If the user opens a new browser window from an existing browser window, then
both browser windows will be using the same session. I don't believe there's
any way to check for that, at least on the server side.

Can you please explain me with example(If possible).

Thanks & Regards,
LALITH

the server has no way of knowing from which distinct browser window in the same clientside process the request came as all windows in the same process share a sessionid (and cookies, etc.).

there's no way to check that, your application should be sturdy enough to handle the situation.
