Interesting. Most users only want soething that is easy to use and doesn't crash. I don't know how many times I heard friends and family complain about Win95/98/Me crashing. But these same types are addicted to the ease (for them) of the Win interface.
Well, KDE on Linux is starting to get close.

Yeah I liked that article too. just my 2 cents worth is that when I was shopping for a free server for win 98 that supported Tomcat, I downloaded 3. Apache, Xitami and MS personal webserver. Apache was the only one I could get running. It was over a year ago so I dont remember the exact problems now. I did have a couple problems getting Apache working too though.
