Hello ,
I am trying to display French characters

I am using UTF8 - however it displays question marks and not the correct format in French

Any help in this regard would be appreciated

You have to put in the html codes for the characters, not just type them in.
Check out an html reference what those are.
The same goes for any non-ASCII characters, like for example the Euro sign.

Make sure you set the response header to UTF-8 and that a suitable font (either one of the extended latin ones or a unicode font) is installed on the OS on the client. If the client is MS Window, I find installing the Arial Unicode MS font from an MS Office CD solves most of these problems.
