if you are one of the rare people who actually used my site for anything it is still offline a lot until i can get a job and get a cable hookup(i need to keep my phone free right now)
hmm maybe i should change my name to wormslayer

Mostly stuff like - how to reformat the Bunk House using XML, how to keep the book reviews up to date and the publishers happy, how to keep the few extremists on the Ranch from ruining things for everyone else, how to drum up a few bucks to get an upgrade for UBB without charging folks to use the site, how to keep Marcus Green from dominating the java world (course we invite him to the conversation), how to refrain from telling folks what we REALLY think when they do "less-than bright" stuff, how nice Pauls new farm looks, you know, STUFF. . .

Cindy is absolutely correct. that is pretty much what we talk about. Once in a while a new bartender will ask it a name is correct or not. and there are some things only sheriffs can do. we also make fun of the rest of you. just kidding.
well worms certainly dont give up without a fight! there was about 12 hours between my scan and replacing wsock32.dll
so i ran another scan
in that time the hybris worm had infectd 3 more files. the good thing is it only infects zip files and most of the ones it had infected i had already unzipped. it did infect a zip file(anti-virus program) i downloaded yesterday but hadnt used(oh well).
anyway now maybe im free
at least my system acts more normally

Once I created a virus. It wasn't a worm, so you don't have to worry about ever seeing it (I still don't get C sockets). I modified (cough) someone's implementation of a self-extracting compressed file. It didn't even destroy any files (though you had to initially inject it into an executable). It just told you when you logged in to windows what a jerk you are. It was even polymorphic (encrypted itself with a random rc4 key). Those were the good old days. I wonder what happened to it...
