I have a MS site running which drops a cookie in the client browser. If I want to read the same cookie through resin server or any other java web server, is it possible. I have same domain names in both cases.

Browsers don't really care (and probably have no idea how to find out) which type of software runs a server. They simply send whatever cookies they have for that domain with each request. So as long as the domain is the same, the cookies will be sent no matter what the server software is.
