Hi,

I am facing a problem with the
ORACLE 9i to run my servlets.

Here is the situation:

Deployed the Servlets onto Tomcat 5.0 successfully.

No problem with the program.

Now while trying to run the Tomcat manager, I am being
asked to enter username and pwd of "XDB". Though, I
gave the correct ones it did'nt work.

Interesting thing is...
When I stop the Oracle Service "OracleServiceJPRACT",
where JPRACT is my Global Database name I am able to
work with my servlets. But, I need this service to be
started to make my servlets interact with the
Database.

Standalone servlets i.e. the one which don't interact
with the DB work fine if I stop that particular
service. Ofcoz, it asks the username of the Tomcat
username and password.

Hope you people help me out.

People I found the solution myself. The problem was that the XDB and Tomcat had the same port number. You can work normally by taking either of the two solutions.

1.) Delect the string dispatchers="(PROTOCOL=TCP) (SERVICE=jpractXDB)" in the init.ora file.

2.) Change the port number of the tomcat.
